2016 Festival Poster Revealed

This year’s cover illustration and t-shirt design originated as a poster created for the Syracuse Poster Project, a nonprofit civic art group committed to enlivening downtown Syracuse and strengthening the city’s sense of place. Founded in 2001, the Project brings together poets and Syracuse University artists to create an annual series of poetry posters for the city’s kiosks. The Project’s original poster features a poem by Dennen Bunger of Manlius: Cold beer and guitars / Tattoos and motorcycles / Welcome to Blues Fest. The poem was illustrated by Olivia Ferlenda, senior illustration student at SU, who then redeveloped the illustration specifically for the 2016 NYS Blues Fest.

A great big Blues Festival thank you to LP&M Advertising for putting together our poster for 2016! Prints of this year’s poster will be available for purchase during the festival at the merchandise tent.
