Jake Lozo Band

Jake Lozo is a blues musician whose raw, soulful sound blends the legacy of the genre’s greats with a fresh, modern twist. Drawing influence from legends like Buddy Guy, BB King, and Ronnie Earl, Jake’s guitar work is as fiery as it is expressive, weaving together the rich tradition of blues with his personal style.

Growing up in Ilion, NY, Jake developed a passion for music early on, as a fourth-generation musician from both parents. His introduction to music began at home inspired by his father, Todd Lozo Sr. who spent thirty years as legendary Country Music Group, Lonesome Dove’s front man and as a musician in the Mohawk Valley Music scene. Jake picked up acoustic guitar as a youth and eventually migrated to electric guitar in his late teens pulling his style from Stevie Ray Vaugh, Jimi Hendrix and Grateful Dead, developing his passion for blues and honing his craft with an unwavering respect for the masters who paved the way.

Jake began his professional music career joining blues ensemble, Uncle Charlie and The Meatballs out of Utica NY in 2020 on lead guitar. In 2022 he launched The Jake Lozo band with Joe Barr on bass, and Mike LeClair on drums bringing his unique sound and youthful energy to the stage. In 2024 the group grew adding Jacob Toher on Saxophone, Sean Peters on Bass, Malcom Gaines-Parker on drums, Frank Talarico on keyboards and Adam Bishton on harmonica to round out the unique Jake Lozo Band sound. JLB delivers a masterclass in blues, effortlessly channeling the spirt of their influences while making the genre their own.

One of the great honor’s in Jake’s career has been to join legendary blues harmonicist, Tom Townsley, guitarist, Morris Tarbell, bassiest, Sean Peters and drummer Lenny Milano, covering the blues legendary recording companies, who produced the blues greatest talents over the years. Most recently Jake joined local ” Voice” contestant Shawn Smith in a new venture showcasing his versatile guitar skills as lead guitarist in this country genre ensemble.

When not on stage, Jake is committed to preserving the roots of the blues as a board member with the Mohawk Valley Blues Society. He is focused on inspiring new generations to feel the power of the timeless sound including his young son, Fischer Dugan Lozo.
