Ron Spencer’s Jumpstart 20th Anniversary

Conceived back in 2000 as an ‘old school’ R&B revue, the seven piece horn driven band was the brainchild of CNY blues guitarist Ron Spencer. Centered around a core rhythm section of the area’s top musicians and vocalists, Jumpstart became a NYS Blues Fest crowd favorite!

In 2005 Jumpstart released their CD, Livin’ Low on Blue Wave. A total of 18 CNY musicians performed on the disc, including r&r/r&b legend Jimmy Cavallo. Jumpstart went on to record two more Blue Wave discs with Cavallo.

2025 marks the 20th Anniversary of Ron Spencer & Jumpstart’s SAMMY Award winning disc. Jumpstart is Ron Spencer/guitar, Dave Liddy/piano, Cato Eaton/sax, Rodney Zajac/sax, Bob Purdy/bass, Ross Moe/drums and guests vocalists Joe Whiting & Steven T. Winston on vocals.
