This Band is a collection of Central New York musicians that assembled one autumn weekend at MoleTrax Studios. With a very special guest in the mix. Special guest to be revealed in the following. What would took place was an impromptu recording session that captured an amazing collaborative of musicianship in unfamiliar paring, that yielded very favorable results. Rex Lyons, Jay Gould, Irv Lyons, and Steve Palumbo of regional favorites the Ripcords bring a strong expensive musical knowhow to do some of the heavy lifting. Keeping a fundamental thread of continuity, allowing the ensemble to step out with creative abandon.
Liz Strodel a multi talented musician writes, sing, plays guitar, and most notably is a phenomenal drummer. Her mastery of backbeat and rhythm jump out at you giving the WSSC a uniqued and lively feel. Clearly putting her footprint though out the soundscape.
Jazz piano virtuoso Dave Solazzo brings his enormous musical vocabulary to roots based WSSC. Giving the blues hearted WSSC another dimension for the music enthusiasts to feast on. Creating interesting and unfamiliar pathways that will keeping you smiling with a surprise at every turn.
Special guest of this impromptu gathering was none other than the one, the only, Mr. Earl Slick! He was the real inspiration for the convening the West Side Social Club. His legend, vibrance, and musical genus was definitely fueling the entire ensemble! Still a touring gunslinger, can only make the WSSC scene on occasion…
