The New York State Blues Festival is happy to announce that they are teaming up with the Canadian organization, SoundsUnite, to bring greater online resources to the students involved with their youth development initiatives.
SoundsUnite is a team of music educators, audio software & engineering professionals, music producers, and musicians who are building music technology education & creation products that provide all emerging artists the support they need to promote, protect, and distribute their songs.
We believe in the transformative healing powers of music, and we are committed to providing accessible and inclusive opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to explore, learn, and connect through the universal language of music. We can come together to inspire, support, and learn from one another, ultimately enriching our communities and contributing to a more harmonious world.
We believe that music transcends borders, unites people in joy, and positively impacts the emotional wellbeing of listeners and musicians alike. Our mission is to deliver free music education, music wellness, and collaboration tools to every student in Canada, as well as every at risk youth group or marginalized community.

The Syracuse based, New York State Blues Festival, currently offers three CFCU KJ James Memorial Scholarships, Blues In the Schools for 4th and 5th graders and a student band called Blues Ignition. These endeavors are designed to compliment each other, starting with a basic introduction to the genre for elementary school kids, the opportunity to play in a group setting for middle and high school musicians and a chance to help finance their pursuit of higher education for those looking to play at a professional level.
